Whenever I bend down lately, for example to spit out toothpaste, I get this stabbing pain in the heel of my right foot. I don't have full coverage at the moment so I can't really afford to get it checked out. Any ideas as to the cause?
Does it hurt when you walk on it? Does it hurt more in the morning than other parts of the day? If the answer to either of these is yes, you may have Plantar Fasciatus. I am almost positive I spelled that wrong. lol Anyway, I'm dealing with that currently. It's a very common foot problem. I wish I had an answer to curing it. My podiatrist says it's going to take about a year to heal but if I could completely stay off it, i.e. crutches, it'd take about 3 months. Yeah, like I have time for that. Anyway, he has me wearing Berkinstock shoes full time. The only time I can be barefoot is in the shower or in bed. Apparently they're providing the support my feet need. I went to one of those orthotic stores before going to the doctor and waisted $500 on shoe inserts. I highly recommend Berkinstocks before doing that. They cost about $150.
Good luck.
Oh yeah, try allot of stretching exercizes too. Good luck.
PS, I am not a doctor but I do play one on the Zone.
No and no.
Its cancer, or a bone spur, or a calcium deposit, or a needle stabbing into your foot, or a tear in your Achilles tendon, or a wart, or a blister, or a hairline fracture in your heel, or a muscle protesting against being stretched in the morning. How the hell should we know what's wrong? You're asking people without medical degrees to give you a possible diagnosis based on two nonspecific sentences of text. You're better off going to web MD and asking them. And even if we could diagnose your issue, what are we going to do, email you a prescription?
right on, Cody.
although, I'll say that another possibility is a condition called bursitis, which means inflammation of whatever muscles are painful.
the most common areas it's located, are the hip and elbow, but it can also be located on a person's heel, too.
a conservative measure to use, to see if the pain lessens, is applying either an ice pack, or heating pad to the painful spot.
Why thank you.
well now Coady, you never know. someone just might email him some...
lol
People are always saying,
Hey I got this going on, any ideas???
They know that others aren't doctors but we still ask just to see if anyone might know or might have gone threw it too. We want to talk about it then and not wait until we see the doctor so until we can see a doctor we tell everyone else about it...
How long has this been going on? I get something like this going on when i am on my feet a lot. and I am alot for work. i have learned not to stand on one foot so much. I tend to put most my weight on one foot and it ends up causing something just like this. Well it does do this. it is in the middle of my heal like almost the bone hurts and it hurts when i put pressure on it or stretch it... It is for putting all my weight on it for hours every day. I switch back and forth more and sit when I can.
Does this sound possible?
Nah, I'm not on my feet much.
True that we're not doctors but as he mentioned he's looking to see if some one has maybe gone through the same thing and if so then they may be able to give him solutions that helped them that will hopefully help him too.
Thank you.
Impy, I have no clue why your foot hurts, but I hope it gets better. You say you're not on your feet much; maybe that could be a reason? Maybe you can try walking or exercising the foot for a few minutes a day? No clue though. whatever it is, hope you feel better soon.
My dear friend Bernadetta. I thank you for your concern. The pain has gone down a bit over the past few months.
I'd say its obviously a brain tumor and you had three days to live
when you first posted this topic.
Keep smiling!

May I call you Doctor Robert, after The Beatles song of the same name?
